Hornist
Hornist Minsong Kim graduated from Kyung Hee University with a degree in horn performance. Since then, she has continued to develop her artistry through competitions and a wide range of professional performances. She was awarded the Grand Prize at the 1st Busan Wind Association National Wind Competition, First Prize at both the Seoul Music Education Newspaper Competition and the Woohyun Competition, and Second Prize at the Gangnam Symphony Competition. As a member of a wind quintet, she also advanced to the main round of the ARD International Music Competition. As an orchestral musician, Kim has served as guest principal horn with the Wonju Philharmonic Orchestra, Hankyung Philharmonic Orchestra, and Prime Philharmonic Orchestra. She has also performed as a guest musician with the KBS Symphony Orchestra, KBS Traditional Music Orchestra, and Korean Chamber Orchestra, gaining experience across a diverse range of orchestral repertoire. Alongside her orchestral work, she continues to broaden her musical activities through chamber music. She is currently a member of the Buddy Brass Quintet and Elo Quintet, performing in brass ensemble and chamber music settings. Building on her experience in competitions, orchestras, and chamber ensembles, Minsong Kim continues to pursue an active career as a hornist across a wide range of musical stages.
