Saxophonist Chansol Jeon is known for bringing his distinctive musical interpretation to a diverse repertoire. After graduating from Daejeon Arts High School and Yonsei University College of Music, he continued his studies in France at the Conservatoire de Lyon. He later pursued his master’s degree at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, where he studied under the world-renowned saxophonist Vincent David and became the first Korean saxophonist to be admitted and graduate following David’s appointment to the faculty. As both a soloist and ensemble musician, Jeon has appeared with numerous orchestras and ensembles in Korea, including the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra, Changwon Philharmonic Orchestra, Bucheon City Choir, Chuncheon City Choir, Paju City Choir, and the Yonsei University Wind Orchestra, demonstrating his versatility across a wide range of musical settings. During his time in Europe, he was a member of the French saxophone ensemble L’Artisanat Furieux, performing in various chamber and orchestral engagements. His international activities also include an invitation to perform at a commemorative concert celebrating the 120th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Belgium. Since returning to Korea, Jeon has maintained an active performance career on major stages at home and abroad. Following his homecoming recital at Kumho Art Hall Yonsei, he has performed at venues including BOZAR in Brussels, Lotte Concert Hall, and the Haeoreum Grand Theater at the National Theater of Korea. His recent solo recital at the Seoul Arts Center Recital Hall was sold out, and he also appeared in a duo recital with his former mentor, Vincent David, at Youngsan Art Hall. Beyond the concert stage, Jeon has expanded his activities through media appearances, including EBS’s 11 O’Clock Classical Music. He currently serves as an international artist for Henri Selmer Paris, Vandoren Paris, and BG France. Alongside his performing career, Jeon is dedicated to educating the next generation of musicians. He currently holds teaching positions at Yonsei University, Hanyang University, Seoul Arts High School, and Yewon School, continuing his work as both a performer and educator.
