Violinist Yuju Jung made her stage debut at the age of twelve, performing as a soloist with the Tatarstan National Orchestra of Russia. That same year, she won First Prize at the Music Chunchu Competition and completed the 2nd Seoul Arts Center Camp & Competition, beginning to attract attention as a promising young musician. She was subsequently selected through the Suwon Philharmonic Orchestra’s concerto audition and appeared as a soloist with the orchestra. She also won First Prize at the CBS Competition and completed the LG Love of Music School, building a strong musical foundation in both solo and chamber music from an early age. Her early international chamber music experience included performing at the opening concert of the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (CMS) Asia Tour at the LG Arts Center, as well as a chamber music performance at Rose Hall at Lincoln Center in New York. Jung was later selected as a scholarship recipient for both the PyeongChang Daegwallyeong International Music Festival and the DMZ International Music Festival. After winning First Prize in the DMZ concerto audition, she performed as a soloist with the Mostly Philharmonic Orchestra. At the age of seventeen, she was admitted to the Hochschule für Musik Dresden with the highest score by unanimous decision of the jury. She went on to win Second Prize, with no First Prize awarded, at the International Music Competition in Meißen, Germany, where she also received the Audience Prize and the Composer’s Special Prize. She subsequently completed a seven-concert tour throughout Saxony with the Elbland Philharmonie and appeared in a prizewinners’ concert (Preisträgerkonzert). She was also awarded the Deutschlandstipendium, a scholarship supported by the German government. Jung later received the Overall Grand Prize by unanimous decision of the jury at the Amigdala International Competition in Italy and won First Prize at the Berlin Mozart Competition, further establishing her presence on the international stage. Jung has broadened her musical horizons through masterclasses with internationally renowned artists including Vadim Repin, Daniel Hope, Kyoko Takezawa, Koichiro Harada, Maxim Fedotov, Dong-Suk Kang, Ju-Young Baek, and Clara-Jumi Kang. After studying with Donghyun Kim and Minjung Seo, she continued her studies in Germany under Sergey Khachatryan and Igor Malinovsky. After graduating with highest honors from both the Bachelor’s and Master’s programs at the Hochschule für Musik Dresden, Jung completed the Konzertexamen program at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe. During her studies in Karlsruhe, she served as concertmaster in an orchestral project led by conductor James Gaffigan, Music Director of the Komische Oper Berlin, demonstrating her leadership as an orchestral musician. She also served as a member of the Rundfunk-Sinfonieorchester Berlin (RSB) Academy and continues to pursue an active career as both a soloist and orchestral musician.
